Yesterdays easy peasy banana oat cookie recipe has me inspired.
I cannot believe the delicious results of a few simple super healthy ingredients stirred together.
Wanting to continue on my health conscious cooking adventure I turned to some of my favourite foodies for a little healthy cooking inspiration and was so excited to find this baby friendly chocolate mousse recipe thanks to the beautiful and very talented Teresa Cutter.
Initially I didn’t believe the combination of avocado, banana, cocoa, dates and cinnamon could result in a mouth watering mousse but I was proven well and truly wrong. This creamy, luscious, gorgeously silky chocolate mousse is divine and so jam packed full of goodness!
I also love the simplicity of this recipe; just pop all of the ingredients into the bowl of a food processor and blitz until creamy. Easy peasy!
I was pretty confident Miss G. would love this chocolatey treat as she has absolutely adored avocados since we began our baby led weaning adventure. And she did! By the time the chocolate mousse was demolished her little chubby face was well and truly covered in chocolate.
To create this super healthy baby friendly chocolate mousse simply…
To begin place the banana, avocados, dates, cocoa and cinnamon in the bowl of a food processor. Blitz until creamy and smooth.
Dollop the chocolate mousse into individual containers of your choice. I chose Miss G’s little tupperware plastic cups. Top with a few raspberries and pop into the refrigerator for an hour or so, just until chilled and set. Enjoy! X

can you freeze these? does it make a lot?

Hi Louise! The recipe fills 4 small ramekins:-) I haven’t tried freezing the mousse…my husband found his way to them nestled in the fridge and they were gone all too quickly! To be perfectly honest I am not sure how they would go in the freezer, I think the luscious texture may be lost in the freezing/defrosting process. I hope that helps 🙂

Hi, I’ve made this a few times now and froze some just to see if it would survive, it did ok lost a little of the texture and flavour but my little man didnt mind one bit and loved It just as much.
Love your recipes looking forward to being able to do more once my little man grows out if his dairy allergy x

I have been doing BLW with my daughter since she was 6 months and she is now 8 months and loving it. I made her this mousse the other day and she absolutely devoured it. Messy but so worth it! I love your website and have made a few other things already so will leave a comment on them too.

I’ve just made this and while it looks lush, it seems quite bitter. Have I done something wrong???
